Learning to Blog, Part IV Adding fonts, colors, and URLs, etc.

Once we have something to say in our posts, we might want to add some variety to our posts to make them more visually interesting.
For example, I can change the font, or I can make the text bold or underlined, pretty much as we all know how to do in any document.
When I learn something new, unlike my students, I'm often hesitant to think of the ways to change things up at first and stick only to what is taught. I think we can say a great deal with these subtle changes just as long as they don't create so much distraction that the content is forgotten.

  1. I can even add numbered lines
  2. create a list
  3. or make an outline
If I want to make bulleted points, it's just as easy

  • find the bullets button
  • click on the button
  • write the list
  • click the button again to make it stop
I can even write my entire post with the text centered
in the middle
or off to the right side
such as you see here
I can even cross out words if I want to for some reason.

I guess if I want to add a picture using a URL I can. As with the YouTube videos, I wonder if I have to contact the person where I got the picture.  I'm using a link to a picture from the page of Russell Stannard since I'm using his tutorial to learn how to create this blog and I imagine this book

would be a good one if it's anything like his video tutorial on creating a blog.

I made it through Part I of the training and now feel much better about creating a blog than I did an hour ago.

Learning to Blog, Part III Adding Video

I learned to add a video to my blog.

It was really simple.
I chose this video because I just taught some of my students how to sew on a button during class. I wish I'd showed them this little video first.

My one concern is using someone else's video on my site.  Is it ok to do this?  It's done as a compliment to this person's work, so I wouldn't think it would be a problem and once anyone clicks on the video, they can learn more about the other videos this person has.

Learning How to Blog, Part II

As I learn to blog using the Teacher Training Video Tutorials I will add posts.

I now know how to upload photos from my computer to my blog. This picture was taken when I was in Italy with my daughter.

The layout of Blogger.com has changed slightly since the tutorial was created. My editing pages don't look exactly like the examples so some things are hard to follow, but little by little I'm getting better at finding what I need to follow the steps.

Getting Started with Blogging for Free

Thanks to Teacher Training Videos I'm learning how to set up and establish my own blog on education...all for free!

Russel Stannard provides step by step video instructions to create a blog, which is what I'm doing now as he describes how to do each step.
I want to teach my students how to blog but haven't successfully created one myself. I've tried a couple times but always stop when I come across a problem I can't solve within a few seconds. Hopefully this method of creating as he is teaching with be what I need.

It's so simple. He teaches very step by step.
